Present:
Parish Councillors: D Semley, S Blades, R Craven, K Bacon
Clerk: D Groves
In Attendance: County Councillor C Reeve
7.15pm – Public Forum: No members of the public present.
Cllr Semley invited Cllr Reeve to provide updates in regards to any ongoing matters. Cllr Reeve said he did not have much to report this month.
He was still looking into the possibility of using a community service group to help with proposed outdoor projects around the village. However, assistance for these groups is currently over subscribed, so none available. Cllr Craven advised it may be possible to ask a local Mens Shed group in Gainsborough, who had recently undertaken projects of a similar nature.
Item:

36. BUSINESS MATTERS FOR CONSIDERATION – To consider and review:
i. Village Hall Update
No report had been received, however, as a member of the committee, Cllr Craven advised they were in the process of fitting new fire doors. An asbestos report was also required, which would take place on 8 July 2026.
ii. Clerk Update
a. June Salary – No additional hours
b. Finance Meeting – Village Hall had been booked for Tuesday 15th September 2026 from 7.15-9.00pm.
c. Register of Interest – Information held was up to date and no changes required.
d. Public rights of way grass cutting schedule – Recently taken place on 22 June 2026, with the next cut scheduled for 14 September 2026.
e. Community Engagement Know Your Place – Information had been published on local Facebook pages. There was a general discussion regarding the recent meeting at the village hall, which several councillors attended in a personal capacity. As per the direction from the organisers, they would submit individual responses, which would reflect their own views and not that of the Parish Council.
f. Water Leak A631 Corringham Road – This had now been repaired by Anglian Water.
g. Overgrown Hedges Edmund Close – A response had been received advising the next cut would be in September 2026, due to bird nesting season. A discussion took place regarding this as the hedges were encroaching further onto the pavement. It was RESOLVED the Clerk would reply to the email requesting action be taken sooner.
iii. Resignation of Cllr Tipping - An email had been received from Cllr Tipping, tending her resignation with immediate effect, stating it had been a privilege to serve the local community. The Chairman thanked her for all her hard work and dedication during her time as a councillor.
iv. Emergency Planning - Cllr Craven advised the committee would be holding a meeting on 18th July 2026 and would update at the next meeting.
v. Internal Audit – Cllr Semley advised that the audit had now been signed off and the overall risk level was low.
vi. Exercise of Public Rights - The dates have now been published and would run from 1st July - 30th July 2026.
vii. Tree Funding – Cllr Semley advised, due to a large number of requests, we were unsuccessful in obtaining a grant. She has registered for updates should any further grants become available.
viii. Recreation Ground – Cllr Semley had been advised, by the school, of damage caused to the entrance hedge area and was in discussion with them regarding repairs.
She was also in the process of arranging a meeting to move forward the application for land swop, which needed to be in place prior to any other works taking place in this area.
The Clerk stated an email had been received from a parishioner regarding a play park in this area. The Chairman advised that this was something the council were already working towards achieving, however the land swop would need to take place first to ensure any works took place in the correct area. After discussion, it was agreed the best way forward would be for the parish council to arrange the necessary land swop with Lincolnshire County Council. To avoid delays, volunteers would be sought to set up a working group. The aim of the group would be to look at the type of equipment, costs, funding availability/sources and ongoing future costs (ie insurance, maintenance etc).
It was RESOLVED the Clerk would advertise, via social media, for volunteers to set up a working group.
It was RESOLVED the Clerk would reply to the email, advising the parishioner of the above.
37. FINANCIAL REPORTS – To receive the financial report and approve payments.
