May 2026 Village Hall AGM Brief
Corringham Village Hall AGM Brief 19 May 26
Over the past year, Corringham Village Hall has undergone a significant period of transition and progress. Following changes in management, the committee has worked hard to strengthen governance, update policies, and ensure the Hall is operating on a much firmer footing for the future.
One major development has been the discovery that the Hall land had never been formally registered in the Hall’s name. We’ve now begun the legal registration process, and I’d like to publicly thank the Parish Council for generously supporting this by covering the legal costs. Their support recognises the Village Hall as a vital community asset and helps safeguard its future for generations to come.
We’ve also continued improving and maintaining the Hall, including refurbishments to several areas and completing the Hall’s first Fire Risk Assessment. This identified essential fire safety upgrades, and we’re pleased external funding has already been secured towards those works and as a result the fire system is now upgraded and fire doors have been measured up and are in the process of being ordered.
Despite ongoing challenges such as rising costs and maintenance pressures, the Hall remains financially stable and well used by the community.
Finally, I’d like to thank all committee members, volunteers, user groups, and supporters for their continued dedication. With your support, we look forward to another positive year ahead.
