Minutes of The Annual Parish Meeting May 19th 2026
 
Present: Parish Councillors: D Semley (Chair), S Blades, M Parr, J Tipping, R Craven
Clerk: D Groves
In Attendance: Representatives from Village Hall, Rural Dean and Members of the Public
Apologies for Absence: Parish Councillors S Bibb, M Johnson, K Bacon and County Councillor C Reeve
 
1. Chairman’s welcome
Cllr Semley welcomed all to the meeting and it was pleasing to see such a good turnout.
 
2. To approve the Minutes of the last meeting held 20th May 2025
It was RESOLVED to accept the minutes of the meeting held 20th May 2025 as a true and accurate record.
 
3. Matters arising from the minutes of the last meeting 20th May 2025
No matters arising.
 
4. Reports and presentations from external agencies 
Cllr Semley invited external agencies to present their reports.
 
  • Village Hall – A representative gave a report.
  • St Laurence Church PCC - The Clerk read a report on their behalf.  The full report is available on the Parish website: https://corringham.parish.lincolnshire.gov.uk./council-business.
  • Rural Dean - A representative of the Rural Dean gave an informative report, explaining the proposed changes to the Lea Group of Parishes. 
  • County Councillor – Cllr Semley read a report on his behalf.  The full report is available on the Parish website: https://corringham.parish.lincolnshire.gov.uk./council-business.
Invitations were sent to District Councillor and Corringham CE School, however no replies or reports were received.
 
5. Report from the Chairman of the Parish Council including Financial Report & Burial Authority Report.
  • Cllr. Semley presented a report on the activities of the Council throughout 2025/26, including an overview of income and expenditure and updates on projects. The council now has 8 members, however, it would be nice to see a full compliment of 9.  The full report is available on the Parish website: https://corringham.parish.lincolnshire.gov.uk./council-business.
6. Correspondence received in regard of this meeting
None received.
 
7. Question and answer session and Comments
Comments and questions were invited from Cllr Semley.  
  •  A parishioner asked if St Laurence PCC could confirm that monies raised, in respect of new bell ropes, would still be used for this purpose.  Due to no representative being present, the question was forwarded to the PCC who clarified the monies raised will be used for this purpose.
  • A member of the public thanked the Chairman and Councillors for all their hard work, which was reciprocated by all attendees.

The meeting concluded with drinks and cake.
